Nur 8 Jahre nach seiner Geburt, fand Marco Habegger eine Leidenschaft, die Ihn bis heute begleitet und sich über die Jahre zu einem persönlichen Lebenselixier entwickelt hat. Die Gitarre. Schon zu Beginn wollte er nichts von Noten oder Kinderliedern wissen. Stattdessen waren Brian Adams, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton oder Bon Jovi hoch im Kurs. Durch seine ganze Schulzeit hindurch begleitete ihn auch der Gitarrenunterricht. Bis zu seinem 17 Lebensjahr, spielte er fast ausschliesslich Elektrogitarre. Von AC/DC über Metallica bis hin zu Progressiv-Metal. Ab und zu erfreute er sich neben den harten Rock-Riffs an einem gezupften Song. Eines Tages zeigte ihm sein damaliger Gitarrenlehrer „Cheese“ Up From Down Under, ein Song von Tommy Emmanuel. Es war anders, schwieriger, komplexer, aber es hatte eine traumhafte Harmonie. Das Zupfen imponierte Marco Habegger, so dass er die Gelegenheit nicht auslassen wollte, Tommy Emmanuel am 8. März 2008 das erste Mal Live zu erleben. Da stand ein Mann mit einer akustischen Gitarre auf der Bühne und es Klang, als wäre ein Orchester vor ihm. Bass, Rhythmus, Chords und eine Melodie erklangen gleichzeitig und perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. Er konnte es nicht glauben, dass dies mit einer Gitarre möglich ist. Dies war der Anfang seiner heutigen musikalischen Reise. Fingerstyle nennt sich diese Art des Gitarrenspielens. Autodidaktisch erlernte er die Technik und viele Songs von Tommy Emmanuel, Adam Rafferty, Chet Atkins, Andrea Valeri, Michael Fix. Der Fingerstyle hat sich zu seiner grossen Leidenschaft entwickelt.
